Here we go. I finally have taken the time to put this together and make this work. So here's some pictures. These first couple are the Badjou(sp?) people. Basically I believe badjou are the beggers. Usually they target foreingers if they can spot them but everyone's a target. They walk around, say nothing, and hold their hands out for money while simultaneously putting the other hand to their mouth as if to say "feed me please". That's the people in the streets though. These people we saw from the boat on the way into Cebu and they would dive in the water after one piso. People (filipinos) from the boat seem to find it rather entertaining and throw money at them. <img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 214px; height: 320px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_BXTwZCKRVL4/S4327eQ6-JI/AAAAAAAAAlo/etrFqyBnLrY/s320/IMG_5351+(2).jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5444279026157549714" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_BXTwZCKRVL4/S432741AuNI/AAAAAAAAAlw/NmbNELTBW0Q/s320/IMG_5363+(2).jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5444279033288243410" />
These boats you see are the local riggers that are used by EVERYONE. From the small ones here up to big ones that will travel between islands. The other mode of boat travel are ferries. The fishermen use these boats as well. Here's a view from Allen's Nipa hut right outside the house.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 214px; height: 320px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_BXTwZCKRVL4/S435WdzP4OI/AAAAAAAAAmI/Q2IKza3FKW8/s320/IMG_5533+(2).jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5444281688912814306" />
This here is the street that I live on. During the day...<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_BXTwZCKRVL4/S433hwIIfqI/AAAAAAAAAl4/iLkRFMM78Vw/s320/IMG_5369+(2).jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5444279683787554466" />
And during the evening...
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 214px; height: 320px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_BXTwZCKRVL4/S4336oA8WLI/AAAAAAAAAmA/PHm3aLUOesw/s320/IMG_5399+(2).jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5444280111106644146" />
As for the little Sari Sair stores that all sell the same thing, here's one down by the local market.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 214px; height: 320px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_BXTwZCKRVL4/S437GPe0zAI/AAAAAAAAAmQ/vv3gFF1qv7g/s320/IMG_5405+(2).jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5444283609214405634" />
While we're on the topic of food, let's get to birds. This is the chicken we bought for p$120 a kilo (the bird weighed one kilo) so for all of you who don't do piso to US conversions too well that's about $2.40. She made a great pet for about a week and then we brought her to Sering where she was gutted and cooked! OH! And that reminds me, chickens DO run around when their heads are cut off. I found this out with our second rooster (which I unfortunately don't have a picture of) when I was in charge killing the thing. A process all in it's own aside from the cooking and cleaning for sure...
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 214px; height: 320px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_BXTwZCKRVL4/S439VoHH4XI/AAAAAAAAAmY/ObsTWaLuAF8/s320/IMG_5583+(2).jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5444286072547172722" />
And these next ones are for you bird entusiasts (I'm looking at you Dad and Uncle Pete). This is the endangered Golden Eagle which you can find in Filipino cages everywhere (ok not everywhere, but no one cares about the fact that they're endangered and do actually keep them in cages and try to sell them).
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_BXTwZCKRVL4/S43-6vOe7DI/AAAAAAAAAmo/hmeiNIfmZpY/s320/IMG_5655+(2).jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5444287809623878706" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_BXTwZCKRVL4/S43-518ICoI/AAAAAAAAAmg/27WgQPZ6nlQ/s320/IMG_5633+(2).jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5444287794246060674" />
Here are the local houses which a propped on stilts over the water, umm as you can see? This first house is one that I saw from a place called San Jose which is basically a cult. The Master lives high up on a mountain in a place called "The Shrine". His father was the true master and apparently he had some sort of power. Now people just give him money and subscribe to the PBMA. Almost all of Dinagat believes in him even though he's just a guitar playing filipino man. At least he has a sweet view and a guitar shaped pool...?
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 214px; height: 320px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_BXTwZCKRVL4/S44AnBZQ-9I/AAAAAAAAAnA/tT2GyABtrWE/s320/IMG_5832+(2).jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5444289669926812626" />This second house was a shot taken from the port in San Jose. Nothing really special about it just that it looks cool. OK?!
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 214px; height: 320px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_BXTwZCKRVL4/S44Al-x4XoI/AAAAAAAAAmw/sOdrfNz6jSo/s320/IMG_5734+(2).jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5444289652044881538" />
This next picture was taken at a place called San Roque (not to be confused with Baraguy San Roque where I DON't live or Sitio San Roque where I DO live). It is a small village of fishermen...err fisher-people?...set way out on the island of Dinagat. I believe they all believe in the Master as well. It was a small remote place and a lot of the ground was made from old corals and shells.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_BXTwZCKRVL4/S44AmnjHxAI/AAAAAAAAAm4/KqeX99RCj7s/s320/IMG_5800+(2).jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5444289662988829698" />
Here's an island...
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_BXTwZCKRVL4/S44DV655aQI/AAAAAAAAAnI/dgDKoVu4C3U/s320/IMG_5829+(2).jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5444292674661738754" />
Here's a Jackfruit...
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 214px; height: 320px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_BXTwZCKRVL4/S44DXfjrzfI/AAAAAAAAAng/ytL1kWf9fxU/s320/IMG_5773+(2).jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5444292701680553458" />
Here's an Ox...
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 214px; height: 320px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_BXTwZCKRVL4/S44DWlCwVTI/AAAAAAAAAnQ/ptlgWvJIgr8/s320/IMG_5922+(2).jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5444292685973181746" />
And here's a cock...
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 214px; height: 320px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_BXTwZCKRVL4/S44DXMFxRII/AAAAAAAAAnY/S5YrdWwLFEQ/s320/IMG_5877+(2).jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5444292696454808706" />
So I've been in this internet cafe for about an hour and a half now. I've finally got myself a blog so you can all stop telling me that I need to post pictures and yadda yadda ya. Hope you enjoy. I got many more to post but I'm tired, cranky, and sick of the noise in here. Now that I know it's not such a pain in the ass to post all this stuff and the blog is made, I'll be posting more often for sure. I've got my shit together so praise the Master! these pictures are coming home! Other than that I have nothing witty to say (not that I ever do) and nothing more to write about. So I leave you with my favorite picture thus far.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 214px; height: 320px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_BXTwZCKRVL4/S44HZdoWVBI/AAAAAAAAAno/noFFUMhA6Es/s320/IMG_5915+(2).jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5444297133569496082" />
You totally thought it was going to be that one I took of the dog shitting in from of the door didn't you?
